Airtel is likely to launch its 4G services by
mid April,2012.
Earlier there was a news that they will launch 4G on March 20th. But it
turned to be false. Airtel will be launching 4G services first in
Kolkata. Airtel has won 4G spectrum in 4 circles namely,
Kolkata, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Punjab. They are allocated with
20 Mhz BWA spectrum in the 2.3 Ghz frequency band. It is believed that Airtel will come up with
4G dongles,tablets etc
and also some bundled data plans associated with these tablets and
dongles.Aircel(8 circles),Reliace also have 4G license. Actually 4G launch will be a new milestone in the history of
Indian telecom industry.
