According to Hugo Barra, this new software update also fixes some bugs such as low free RAM availability, UI performance, and UI frame drop issues.

We also received some feedback from users whose devices were suffering from performance issues such as frame rate drops and UI lag. These issues were particularly prevalent during computationally intensive tasks like gaming. The majority of these problems were a result of CPU throttling due to overheating and lack of RAM availability, which the fixes above have addressed. We will continue to monitor user feedback in this particular area.” said Hugo Barra in his Facebook post.
If you are a proud owner of the Redmi 1S, check for this software update and let us know if those glaring issues were fixed. Your feedback and comments will help a lot of Redmi 1S owners.

Nokia X or Samsung Galaxy S Duos 2 : Which One Is a Better Buy?

Nokia X and Samsung Galaxy S duos 2are the twomajor branded smartphones available in thearound Rs.8000price range.Nokia X is priced at Rs.7200andSamsung S duos 2 at Rs.8650as of today (both are online prices). There is a significant drop in the price of Nokia X which was earlier available for Rs.8500. Samsung S duos 2 has also shown a price drop, earlier the same was available for around Rs.10000.

Now coming to the major question:Which one is better?

Nokia Xis running on forked version of Android. Its Android version is based onAndroid 4.1 Jelly Beanand the phone does not support the Google play store. You need to download application from Nokia Store or other Android application stores except Play store.Almost 70% of Android applications are directly supported in Nokia X OS. The other 30% may require slight modifications from the application developers. On the other handSamsung S duos 2 is running onAndroid v4.2 (Jelly Bean). So you can directly download the required applications from Google Play store.Display size, resolution etc. remains the same for both the phones. In the processor side Samsung is little bit better. Now coming to theRAM side Nokia X provides only512MB RAMbutS duos 2 provides 768MB. So hanging issues will be less in Samsung S duos 2. The games which require more RAM will run smoothly in Samsung S duos 2 but will show lags here and there in Nokia X.In the camera sideS duos 2 is clear winner it has a5MP primary cameraand also a0.3MP secondary camerawhileNokia X has only a 3MP primary camera.

S duos 2supports3G upto HSPA+ 21Mbps(DL) and 5.76Mbps(UL)whileNokia Xsupports only upto7.2Mbps (DL) and 5.76Mbps(UL).

In the case ofBattery back upNokia X is much betterthan Samsung S duos 2. Build quality and look is also better in Nokia X. Its also available many different colours.

Nokia X provides a very different user experience. If you arebored of the same Android layout then Nokia X will be a very very different experiencefor you. You can also save around Rs.1500 when compared to Samsung S duos 2.But ifSecondary camera, 3G speed, RAMetc. are important for youthen go for Samsung S duos 2Orelsewait forthe release ofNokia XLwhich provides5MP primary camera and 2MP secondary camera,768MB RAM. The same will be released in May or June in India.

Motorola Moto X is coming to India in the next few weeks

Moto-X

Motorola has received a warm welcome in its second innings in the country with the launch of the Moto G and the company will now bring its elder sibling, the Moto X to India in the coming few weeks.  The smartphone will touch down in Australia as well at a similar time. Here are its specifications:

  • 4.7 inch screen with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and Corning Gorilla Glass Protection on top
  • 1.7Ghz dual core Snapdragon S4 Pro will be present under the hood
  • 2GB RAM
  • Android 4.4 KitKat
  • 16GB/32GB internal memory with the microSD card slot
  • 10MP Clear Pixel primary camera, 2MP secondary camera
  • 3G/4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi b/g/n/ac, GPS and NFC
  • 2,200 mAh battery
The smartphone is priced pretty steeply in US at $399 which prompts a price tag of around Rs 30,000 in India and it won’t be as value for money as its younger sibling. If Motorola manages to give it a sub Rs 20,000 price tag in India, the success of the Moto G might just be replicated on the Moto X.
