BSNL Revised 2G GPRS packs, New Pack At Rs.111
BSNL revised their postpaid and prepaid 2G GPRS packs. They revised
the free data usage associated with the Rs.89 pack (Rs.98 for prepaid) .
The free data is reduced from 2GB to 1.25GB. Apart from that they
introduced new pack at Rs.111 for postpaid and Rs.125 for prepaid, this pack provides 2GB free data usage. Please see the below table for more details. All these changes is effective from 1st October 2012.

Apple wins 1 billion dollar in patent suit against Samsung
SEOUL: Defeat in a bitter patent wrangle with Apple, its smartphone rival and biggest customer, will dent Samsung Electronics Co's $21 billion cash-pile, but could actually help cement its leadership in the global smartphone market.
A US court has ordered Samsung - which sold around 50 million phones in April-June, almost twice the number of iPhones - to pay $1.05 billion damages, after ruling that the South Korean firm infringed on some Apple patents. While the verdict was a big win for Apple, the damages are less than half the $2.5 billion compensation it sought - although that could yet be increased by the judge - and are just 1.5 percent of annual revenues from Samsung's telecoms business.
That phone and tablet business is the powerhouse behind Samsung's growth, earning around 70 percent of total profit. The group had net profit of $4.5 billion in April-June.
Samsung could also see its popular Galaxy smartphone banned from sale in the United States. But its skill as a "fast executioner" - quick to match others' innovations - would likely mean tweaked, non-patent infringing devices would be on the market soon after any ban came into place.
"Samsung has already made some design changes to new products since the litigation first started more than a year ago," said Seo Won-seok, an analyst at Korea Investment & Securities. "With the ruling, they are now more likely to make further changes or they could simply decide to raise product prices to cover patent-related payments."
Also, Apple's demands for Samsung to pay it a royalty on its phone sales could hit rival phones using Google's Android operating system more than it hits Samsung. If anything, the blaze of publicity from the high-profile, high-stakes US litigation has made Samsung's brand more recognisable.
Contradicting verdicts
The California jury had only begun deliberating on Wednesday after a complex weeks-long trial. Friday's verdict on seven Apple patent claims and five Samsung patent claims suggests the nine-person panel had little difficulty in concluding that Samsung had copied some features of Apple's iPhone and iPad.
It could lead to an outright ban on sales of key Samsung products, with Apple saying it planned to file for a sales injunction within seven days and the judge in the case setting a hearing on Sept. 20. Because the jury found "wilful" infringement, Apple could seek triple damages.
The US ruling, read out to a packed federal courtroom in San Jose, just miles from Apple's headquarters, came less than 24 hours after a Seoul court found that while the iPhone and Galaxy look very similar Samsung hadn't violated Apple's design.
Samsung issued a defiant response to the US decision, which it called "a loss for the American consumer", indicating the legal tussle is far from over. "This is not the final word in this case or in battles being waged in courts and tribunals around the world, some of which have already rejected many of Apple's claims," Samsung said in a statement.
Nomura analyst CW Chung, speaking before the verdict, predicted it could take "many years" for Apple and Samsung to settle the case whatever the result of this round, leaving the two firmly in control of the $200 billion-plus global smartphone market.
"The litigation may end up with both parties entering a cross-licensing agreement, which should enable them to build a higher patent wall in the smartphone market," said Chung. "This would have a positive impact on the share prices of Samsung and Apple, while posing a substantial threat to other competitors."
Based on the damages ruling, Samsung is asked to pay Apple around $10 royalty per phone, a move seen aimed at slowing rival phones that run on Android - which account for more than two-thirds of the global market. If Apple were to pursue similar legal challenges against other Android manufacturers that could squeeze profit margins as smartphone prices decline in a growing market - reinforcing the dominance of Samsung, one of the few with big enough margins to absorb the extra cost.
Handset competitors using Android include Taiwan's HTC, LG Electronics, Google's Motorola, Sony and some Chinese brands.
Win some, lose some?
Although Samsung had been viewed as the underdog in the U.S. case, the sweeping nature of Apple's victory was something of a surprise, with many analysts having expected a mixed ruling.
Concerns over potential reputational damage, the short-term cash hit and the impact on billions of dollars of business with Apple had knocked as much as 5 percent off Samsung's shares this week in the run-up to the verdict. But the stock is still up nearly 50 percent since Apple filed its accusations.
Samsung has previously been able to move nimbly to release model upgrades by the time courts have ruled certain products infringed Apple patents and retire patent-infringing models from its line-up. It has skirted around those rulings with a few engineering tweaks and has also made some bold design changes to differentiate its devices from Apple's.
"The impact on Samsung will be quite limited, as affected models are mostly legacy products and its new products did make some design changes to avoid potential litigation," said D.J. Jung, representative patent attorney for SU Intellectual Property.
"Still ... it's a sweeping loss in the most important market. It's inevitable that Samsung's brand will be negatively affected - Samsung could be perceived as a copycat."
Even though Samsung's flagship Galaxy S III phone was not involved in the trial, the jury validated Apple's patents on features and design elements that Apple could then try to wield against that product.
It is possible Apple would not have to seek an entirely new trial against the S III, but rather include it in a "contempt proceeding" which moves much faster, said Nick Rodelli, a lawyer and adviser to institutional investors for CFRA Research in Maryland.
Seoul-based Jung predicted further appeals and fresh suits against newer products as the rivals continue to clash in court.
"It's going to be a very drawn-out battle," he said. "They will keep suing each other, appeal against unfavourable verdicts and bring in new products ... because the stakes are too high. They don't want to lose their initiative in the fast-moving smartphone market."
Outside the box
In a research note before the verdict, UBS analysts said an Apple win could, in the long-run, hurt the US firm "as the real threat is not a competitor beating Apple at its own game, but instead changing the game.
"The likelihood of Apple being leapfrogged or a rival creating a new category (of device) is greater if they have to think out of the box. If they just copy Apple, like Coke, Apple can claim to be 'the real thing'." Samsung also looks to be staying ahead of the curve - by reviving the stylus function, derided by Apple's Steve Jobs, in its latest tablets and by creating the hybrid phone-cum-tablet, or phable.

The All New Windows Phone 8 Arrives
Microsoft is on a mission and with Windows phone 8, it has
gone a step further. It is a totally remodelled version of Windows phone
platform which says bye-bye to Windows CE kernel and in comes Windows
NT core which means that Windows 8 PC, tablets and Windows phone 8
smartphones will be sharing the same platform. That makes microsoft one
step closer to unifying its Windows franchise. The biggest advantage
will be availability of apps as developers will find it easier to create
apps for the two environments.
But there is a catch to the story. Old users with smartphones running on Windows Phone 7.5 will not be able to upgrade to Windows Phone 8 as new capabilities in Windows Phone 8 requires new hardwares. But the bottom line is Windows phone 8 finally appears to have the potential to compete with android and may even the iOS smartphones.
At an event in San-franciso last week, Microsoft officially announced their latest smartphone OS Windows phone 8. And said the phones running Windows Phone 8 is expected to hit the stores in the beginning of the 2013. The move is also followed by the launch of Surface tablet, Microsofts effort to tackle the ever increasing hold of Apple’s iPad.
Windows phone 8 makes the concept of unified platform for all types of form factors namely PC, laptops, smartphones and tablets a reality. And with Nokia’s software solutions and hardwares, they make a pair just perfect for each other. To sum it all up, this is what Windows phone promised to be when it was first announced way back in 2010. And its success will be more critical for Nokia which may well be their last chance to get its grip back in the smartphone market.

Android Grows Further, Windows Phone Still Far Behind
Do you own a Windows Phone? Do you love it? Then the following news may come as a shocker to you.
Thes latest smartphone market share numbers are out for U.S. and unsurprisingly Android has the largest shares with a whopping 51 percent of smartphones running with android. But the new and attractive Windows Phone, earning many positive acclaims, is still too far behind with just more than 1 percent market shares. And as a fact it is even less than its predecessor Windows Mobile.
Google already announced that android activations grew from 100 million in 2011 by 4 times to 400 millions in 2012. That is an average of hugely impressive 12 activations per minute. And that is reflected in the Nielsen study of market shares.
The new study also shows that every two of three mobile buyers are going for smartphones. Among those, 51.8 percent smartphones are running android. Compare that to comfortably behind second, iOS by apple at 34.3 percent ( which to be fair, is also due to the fact that there are many less iOS devices compared to number of android devices available in the market) and far behind third in the race, Blackberry at 8.1 percent, and we can say that android has no threat in the immediate future.
In the Android market, Samsung expectedly leads with 17 percent market share. HTC is next with 14 percent market share followed by Motorola at 11 percent and the rest of manufacturers with combined 9 percent share of the android market.
Interestingly, Windows mobile, which tried to jam the whole windows desktop into a phone and failed in doing so making the phone more harder and messier to use, still runs on more smartphones at 3 percent market share than its far more usable and attractive Windows Phone OS at 1.3 percent market share.
All of that means just 0.9 percent smartphones running Symbian OS by Nokia so don’t get surprised if Symbian is not even mentioned in next years study. For now its Android and iOS which are winner all the way.

Make Your PC A Wi-Fi Hotspot With MHotSpot
Normally internet connections
can be shared by home users by using ICS (internet Connection Sharing)
or by making an Ad-hoc network to allow other devices to share a single
connection. Other alternative methods require connecting multiple
computers by using Ethernet cables connected to the modem. While you can
use a Wi-Fi router for connecting an Android or Symbian phone to the
internet, your router might not be able to support too many devices. MHotSpot
is a portable application which simplifies the process of sharing your
wireless network connection with other computers and devices such as
Android, Symbian phones, printers and Tablet PC. MHotSpot does not have
any complex settings and can share an available wireless network at your
home or office.
To get started, you will require sharing your WiFi connection from the Network and Sharing Center. To do that, access Wireless network connection settings from right-click context menu and click Status.
Once done, click Properties and choose the Sharing tab. From here, click check “Allow other network users to connect through this computer’s internet connection” option and select your wireless internet connection from the list. Click OK for the changes to take effect.
Launch MHotSpot and click Start to begin sharing your wireless internet connection.
This will allow you to connect multiple devices to your computer for using the internet. Your PC name will appear in the list of available wireless connections. You can connect multiple device to your PC and hence, create a wireless hotspot at home or office. Click the Stop button to stop the wireless connection.

Earlier there was a news that they will launch 4G on March 20th. But it
turned to be false. Airtel will be launching 4G services first in Kolkata. Airtel has won 4G spectrum in 4 circles namely, Kolkata, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Punjab. They are allocated with 20 Mhz BWA spectrum in the 2.3 Ghz frequency band. It is believed that Airtel will come up with 4G dongles,tablets etc
and also some bundled data plans associated with these tablets and

STEL AND ETISALAT DB TO STOP OPERATIONS IN INDIA
Telecom operators Stel and Etisalat DB will very soon stop their
operations in India. This decision is after the cancellation of licenses
by the Supreme court in the 2G spectrum scam issue. Stel has not yet
officially come up with a statement that they are stopping their
operations, but has directed their customers to port out from their
network to other networks using MNP. Many Stel customers are now not
having network to generate the UPC code to port out. So they have also
started an online portal to generate UPC code. It seems
Etisalat will also be giving 30 days time for its customers to port out
to other networks. Stel had licenses for 6 circles and had 3G license
for some circles. Etisalat had licenses for 15 circles. The official
statement from Etisalat DB claims that this decision has been taken in
order to protect the interests of all stakeholders and to avoid
incurring further costs at this time of rapid change and continued
uncertainty in the Indian telecommunications sector. Due to the quitting
of these operators and customers are affected badly. Many will lose

- Insert You idea netsetter with default sim (which u got with netsetter)
- Run Huawei Modem Unlocker and enter your IMEI number and click on CALCULATE
- Note the Unlock code and Flash code and keep it safe
- Install Huawei firmware E-1550 For idea india (you can download it from here ).
- Then put your Flash code when it asks during installing firmware
- After completion of installation disconnect the netsetter and change the idea sim (insert any other sim ex: Airtel/Docomo/Bsnl etc.)
- Now connect again the netsetter to pc.
- After all the detetction and automatic installations of drivers open the IDEA NETSETTER SOFTWARE
- It will ask an UNLOCK CODE and enter the Unlock code you already noted from Huawei Modem Unlocker.
- Thats it Now you can use any sim in your E-1550 !!!

As we know , most of us are disappointed with the new
Facebook Timeline interface which Facebook rolled-out recently . And
even worse is the fact that we can not roll it back or use the Facebook
without Timeline. So we fount out a simple way to use the old Facebook .
But this is client side thing and can be on your computer . That means
others will see your profile with the new interface but you can use the
old Facebook for all the profiles. The steps are very easy and can be
done by installing a simple extension.
Steps To Use Facebook Without Timeline :
1. Go to this link and install User-Agent Switcher
For Chrome. (If you fail and get an error message saying package is
invalid then go to "about:flags" on your chrome and enable
"Experimental Extension APIs" . And then restart your browser and then
try downloading User agent switcher.
2.Once installed you will see this icon on the upper-right of your Chrome browser
3. Click on the icon shown in above step and select Internet Explorer 6 as shown below.
4. Now refresh your Facebook page and use Facebook without the Timeline.
